Washburn Rural High School
The Winter Formal will be held Saturday, January 28 at the Ramada Inn (420 SE 6th Ave) from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM. This year's theme is Northern Lights. Students should dress up for this event. Wicher's will be taking pictures at the dance. Student's may pick up photo order packets at the bank.
Tickets
Tickets will be $10.00 each and may be purchased at the bank January 23 - January 27. You may also purchase tickets at the doors of the Ramada. Students will need to bring their photo ID to be admitted.
Outside Dates
Students wishing to bring outside dates will need to sign them up in the Commons area January 24 - January 26.
Any parents and/or students of USD 437 and beyond interested in learning more about the International Baccalaureate Program, offered only by Washburn Rural High School beginning Fall 2012, are invited to attend an informational meeting on Monday, February 27 at 7:00pm in the WRHS Media Center.

This presentation will consist of:
  1. An introduction of the IB program and ways in which it differs from other educational paths Washburn Rural offers
  2. Course recommendation and requirements (4 year planning)
  3. How an IB Diploma is earned
  4. Statistics: Retention and success rate of IB students at the Collegiate level
It's our intent for parents and students to have information that will clarify the basic principles of the International Baccalaureate Program and assist in selecting the right educational path with/for your student.

This weekend the WRHS wrestling team placed 6th at the JayHusker Invitational Tournament in Marysville, KS. The Jr. Blues had 7 individual medalists, led by champion Aaron F.
